  • 09 Margaret
Bricking. Dusty, but soft and fresh purple fruit. Primary. Savoury and black olive. Crunchy tannin. Still a way to go. Delicious. Outstanding length. Outstanding. Shared at end of year WineGeeks. 95. Now, but some more development to come over 3-5.

  • Attractive nose of cassis and capsicum. Medium bodied, elegant and balanced with fine-boned tannins, good length and balance. Drinking well now and probably at a plateau for another 5-8 years.

  • Appearance: deep ruby with garnet rim.
Nose: medium plus intensity; aromas of toast, bay leaf, blueberry, leather, violet, cold brew coffee, cloves. It's developing.
Palate: dry, high acidity, medium plus tannins (fine but a little dusty in texture), medium plus alcohol (13.5%), medium plus body, medium plus flavour intensity, dried red plum, savoury tannins. The finish is medium plus.
Overall, it's very good wine. Can drink now, has potential for further ageing.
Delicious and drink at its peak now. Certainly not the most complex wine but a good representation of MR cab blend with all flavours loaded. This bottle is not as perfumed as the last one (bottle variation?) but the length seems to be better. I love the savoury tannins lingering on the palate. Although you can keep it, I personally don't think it will be markedly better.

  • Screwcap, 13.5% alc. 69% Cab Sauv, 16% Merlot, 15% Cab Franc.

Beautiful and elegant nose of cassis, redcurrant, bay, lead pencils, and menthol. Deft oak handling; the fruit shines through here.

Equally elegant on the light-medium bodied palate. Very fine, dusty tannins. The wine is mostly built on acid. Finishes very cleanly though a bit short.

Opinion: Elegant wine. Uncertain as to whether this will improve with further age.
