Dark and dense ruby like a Pauillac. Liqueur cherries and after time burnt treacle on the nose. Some chocolate and mocca on the palate but a little masked by too much alcohol (15.5%). Is this fortified? Still a complex wine with a good length and would pair with both a venison and chocolate lava cake.

ZAP 2013 (San Francisco, CA): red, purple, in color. caramel, blackberry, blueberry, mineral, oak, on the nose. blueberry, cherry, mocha, tar, oak, vanilla, on the palate. light acid, light to medium tannins, on the finish.
