wonderful wine with Kristine P. J. smooth, velvet, long finish. Straight forward R.R. Valley wine The wine looks ruby colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like strawberry and raspberry. It tastes like rose and violet. The body is medium/full. The wine has round texture. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity.
This is drinking really well - not as luxurious with respect to mouth feel as some of the single vineyards, but still plush, balanced, richer blue fruits balancing out red fruit tartness and acid, light baking spice typical of KB. Decanted and consumed immediately. Ideally would have given 60 min of air, was still improving on last glass.
It's year since my last note on this particular wine. Still quite similar. Color of dark red. Scents of ripe dark red fruit and berry. Tastes of ripe red fruit and berries including raspberry, strawberry and to a lesser extent cherry. Short decant.
Popped and poured. On the nose, sour cherry, black cherry, red raspberry, cola. On the palate bright red cherry with hints of Asian spice and cranberry. Finishes tart and hot, which takes away from an otherwise great package.
