Still quite tannic but no surprise there given the varietal. Tannins were fairly smooth and even a bit unctuous. There's nothing particularly wrong with this wine but my biggest complaint is that it simply lacks fruit. There is very little to be found, leading to a blasé experience even though the wine seems well-made.

Consumed over two days, note from day 2. Nose: Medium expressiveness, earth, sticks and stems, with hints of tart dark red fruits, to summarize - not very appealing to me. Palate: Medium-full bodied, gripping tannins, tart red and black fruit, showing some black pepper in the back-end. Finish: Medium length dominated by tannic grip and black pepper. Just too much Tannat here - 70%, much better as a blending grape - just doesn't do it for me as a primary component, at least in this example.
