Community Tasting Notes (2) Avg Score: 83 points

  • Pale/medium garnet core, wide mahgany rim.
Imediately ready for business, attractive open nose initially pretty, showing relatively ripe, bright sappy red pinot fruit, but over the course of the eveing developing spice, earth and sous-bois notes.
A medium bodied wine with medium + acidity and firm, actually slightly hard tannins. Good intense bright raspberry fruit on the mid-palate with spice and savour on a good length finish with a few of those hard tannins just showing at the end.
Overall a decent village burgundy which has really opened out and should actually improve over the next couple of years as those tannins soften a little.

  • Plae/medium cherry red core, wide pale cherry rim, orange tints. Light/moderately intense nose - some raspberry with vanilla and spice hints. On the palate, soft tannins and medium + acidity - but again moderate fruit with soft raspberries and hints of spice and vanilla on a medium length finish. A little disappointing, but this maybe going through a dumb phase, will open another bottle in a year or so.
