  • solid red currant, cherry, and cranberry; good gout de terre and residual structure; still a bit firm.

  • This second bottle tasted gone. High acids, no enjoyable fruit. Not corked. A nice light garnet Savigny hue, a promise on the nose of a little crunchy brighter red berries, but then no delivery on the palate. Very disappointing and one should gauge carefully if they are worth keeping. Unlike the Bize, which opened beautifully in 2013 and then hibernated, these seem dissipated.

  • I think this has improved since 5 years ago. A bit reticent but a pretty feminine nose, nice cherry fruit and fairly smooth. Very pleasant. Better on Day 1.

  • Quite 2010 and nicely Savigny. A refreshing, lighter but refined attack led on the nose by bright cherry, sweet floral notes and a hint of plum and briar. Not as chiseled as a Bizes some years ago, but true to terroir and to that side of pinot. The color is lighter but rich red and shows no edges. On the palate, more closed and needing some degree ecsnting. An hour in a carafe did not do the job so a decanting of an hour would be appropriate. This wine should be fully open by next year but is worth approaching now.

  • Light garnet hues turning rust at the rim with a transparent edge. The nose gives off cloves, nutmeg, cinnamon, and allspice notes topped on earthy red berries, licorice, and cowhide leather. The palate is light-to-medium-bodied with bright acidity and a silky texture. Flavors of dark cherry, gunpowder, toasted apple wood, scorched cinders, finishes long and spicy with a hint of strawberry core at the very end. Delicious! Thoroughly enjoyable and delectable. Drink now until 2025.
