Dry, firm, vertical, accent on minerals, more lush fruit showing with air. Plenty of spice. You feel the air of a VT. Drinking a point, I think, yet no hurry. #cellarinventory

What a lovely wine. Too bad they don't make it anymore. The Bruniers own Vieux Telegraphe, and apparently for the 2011 vintage they reallocated the grapes used for La Roquète CdP into different wines. This was decanted for about 30 mins and served with some hard cheeses. This wine is from an excellent vintage so there's still fruit here in abundance, but it's not at all syrupy, and any oak influence is very mellow as it was aged in foudre. Lots of earthiness, spice, and blackberry on the palate, with a hint of pepper, and a lengthy finish. It's drinkable now, with a decant, but this could go a few more years with no problem.

PNP. Deep ruby garnet color, with modest rim fade. Carmelized carrots, strawberry, raspberry, and subtle peaches and cream. Smooth, dry palate. Firm, full, low intensity tannins on the medium long finish. 90% Grenache and 10% Mourvèdre
Air may have helped. Not sure how this was stored (had it at friends house) in it’s early years. No obvious “flaw”, but the the nose was not what I expected.
