Disappointing as it misses the liger belair nose and sensation. Darkish red fruit and mineral driven with a touch of oak. I wonder if its related to the Italian label provenance.

Visually quite dark, in the light some vibrant cherry colour reflecting mixed with some browning. Looks appetising. Signature Comte Liger Belair nose - macerated cherries, sweetness, Vosne spices, sous bois, silky oak. The palate is so sexy - medium acidity carrying the very well integrated oak and giving way to sweet cherries, cranberries with a mineral backbone. Very poised and in fact very lifting and rather Vosne than NSG as this terroir can show either. Haut Couture in a bottle. Coming back to the bottle even a day after the last drop has left the bottle there is this an unreal perfume of sweet cherry liquor. Louis Michel is a magician for turning out these mind bending wines. I love how his wines look, smell, (make me) feel, taste. Of course I am a sucker for just discovering them a year ago. The market prices, although worth it, are certainly a widow maker. Drink now - 2030. Bottle #215 of 1207.

Weelend with Friends and Wine; 9/3/2023-9/4/2023 (Asian Spice House - Buchanan MI): Served double blind, I thought 2007-2010 Vosne 1er Cru. On the mature side for the vintage, certainly rich and enjoyable, but nearly as vibrant or exciting as when I enjoyed this wine when it was younger/ fresher.

Some More Wine with Meals in Burgundy and Northern Rhone; 4/9/2019-4/17/2019 (France): From magnum over dinner. This started out as a sophisticated Vosne-spiced 1er Cru, but then kept opening and evolving over the next 3 hours into a superbly
Complex and layered wine. Wow, and then some!
