This was the favorite of many at the table. Golden color with a touch of amber. Some ox'd apple, light mineral, orange zest, then a finish with good length showing caramel and what Brian called 'sherry' which is a good call out. An aged wine, one that I appreciated it but the aged aspect of Champagne is not my preference.

Light maize color. Mature Nose – slightly sherried, with a hint of ginger. Medium bodied with high acidity on the palate. Mature; sherried; like this more than #1.

Served blind. Lots of color so I immediately thought of an aged wine. The nose again pulled me in that direction with oxidized notes of butter and coffee. Some vanilla. The palate was less rich than I would have expected given the nose. Chalky with a slight grip. Toasty, like creme brulee. Clearly an aged wine but maturing very nicely. I guessed someone had brought something relatively high end. This bottle is punching above its weight. Its in a really nice, mature spot right now. Classic BdB. Probably my fav on the evening.

A little disappointing—not enough subtle flavor complexity or minerality for me. Bold, acidic, alcoholic and linear—still has quite a few years left!

very nice, nutty, acidic....good balance of medium intensity and vibrancy....could be more feminine and elegant but wine definitely grabs you
