  • Very mineral, green apple, yellow straw, cutted grass... Very light and delicate at the start, laser sharp, tres tendu, very mineral.... gaining power and lenght with aeration, I just can't believe that this is an Aligoté!!

  • This is a pretty astounding Aligoté, that's in a good place to drink right now. Crafted from vines planted nearly 80 years ago (a 0.35ha plot), it had a lovely yellow-gold color, and the palate impression of a serious Côte de Beaune Chardonnay (serious texture and depth of flavor), however the unmistakable zippy streak of Aligoté which kept it from being too heavy. This is a truly impressive and delicious effort. Should hold for the next few years, though not sure how long a life span it will have. Would love to try his more pricey bottlings, but this is all I could afford for now (a tad over $40 for this bottle).
