Reticent blackberry nose, with very pure dark berry flavors on the palate. Admirable complexity for a 13 year old Savigny. A really well made wine and a pleasure to drink. Will be curious to re-visit in the next 3-5 years.

Deep to mid garnet. Fully mature and more evolved than a bottle two years ago, though in a far better state than a doa bottle six months ago. Mellow, sous bois, more than a touch of the autumnal. Very pleasant but the fruit is now a tertiary profile. Drink up. A good match with Zürcher Geschnetzeltes and rösti. ***1/2

Mid garnet. A touch of creamy hot chocolate VA on the nose initially, with an evolved and somewhat flat, overly mature wine underneath. First bottle from the case a couple of years ago was excellent for its level, but this bottle is overly mature and disappointing.

Great showing. Consumed over two nights and held well. Classic Beaune rockiness with cool fruit from a riper vintage. Open and showing well. Drink 'em if you got 'em.

First look at this, and it’s developing nicely. Primary fruit has been relaxed to a savoury, quite earthy profile with a touch of sous bois. Nicely vital and poised. There’s a lot of wine here for village SLB. Ready but no hurry. ****
