Tuesday Night at WWS (Willamette Wine Storage, Portland OR): The nose shows off a richer quality with black currants, licorice, liqueur tones, spices, black cherries, black raspberries, blueberry compote, blackberries, peppery notes, and some violets. The Full bodied feel is balanced and rich with medium acidity and silky, medium+ tannins. The tones are smoothed out and showing off a richer take to Syrah. There is a bit of alcohol sting on the back end of the palate, but this feels like it is fully ready to go at this point.

A MONSTER. Huge and intense. Raisins, tar, menthol, sarsaparilla, blood orange peel. Reductive on opening but blew off with time. Soft but structured. Good for 3 days. I'll wait 3-5 more years before touching my last bottle.

Pours a deep, saturated purple. Color runs to the edge. Smells of stones, sale minerals, blue fruits and cold coffee - just great. Fruit leads on the palate - blackberry fruits are sweet, cobbler like, pairs abasing tart raspberry. Iron, pepper spice, tobacco leave and more coffee notes run through the finish. Really a pleasure to drink.
Excellent now, I suspect it has a year or two in front of it too, so no rush.

Opened two hours before the first glass. Pours deep purple. Great nose, offering bright notes of plum, blackberry and salty sea air. Hints of smoke and seared meat with peppercorn spice. The wine leads with chocolate laced coffee, blackberry and dark cherry. The fruit tastes a bit caramelized and there is a peppery spice that lingers through the finish. By hour four the wine was quite a bit more funky, layers of garrigue played off the fruit and spice.
This is a great spot, time to drink!

Drink or hold. I’ll likely drink my last bottle soon.
