Now that it's had some time to age, the texture is just right. A little thicker but not too syruppy. Golden raisin, light green apple, pleasantly low minerality. Not too surprising but wish I'd bought more than two bottles.

Best bottle yet. Heady white peach and mandarin/citrus with some elderflower. Sherbety in the middle palate, there is great tension and lifting, but not sharp, acidity. Delicious!

This bottle was really lush, but perhaps showed that way after a more reductive and mineral driven riesling served before. Lots of ripe white peach with some flirtations from tropical fruit and just the slightest hint of petrol. Beautiful persistent finish on this bottle.

These are really coming into their own. Similar Mosel fruit/acid tension, but with the slightly richer feeling you get from Rheingau. On the peachier/tropical side, the finish was very persistent and fine.

(Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Riesling Spätlese) Very light yellow color; tart pear, ripe apple nose; tart pear, ripe apple, mineral palate; medium-plus finish
(Leitz Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Riesling Spätlese) ($23.00) CORE-LIST WINE. Call it “Maggie” as we all do. This is the most tensile, limey version since the ‘04; sleek, spicy and with cut; it takes the apple aroma a little time to come on, and when it does it’s holding hands with tart key-lime; this Maggie is an angular high-cheekboned lass, even with her velvet voice.
(Weingut Josef Leitz Rüdesheimer Magdalenenkreuz Riesling Spätlese) Light yellow color; lovely pear, apple nose; a little austere, tart pear, apple palate; medium-plus finish
