pale yellow color, a sleek and genteel nose, pears and white flowers, on the palate far sweeter than I would expect (or would have liked), ripe sweet citrus tones but frankly a bit hollow on the middle and leading into an attractive sweet finish that is nicely persistent- but lacking great length, peach notes with time, a very pretty wine in its way- but as enthralled as I was with Donnhoff a decade ago, I have not been so happy in seeing how the wines age and while I am still open minded on certain vintages for the higher end of the range- I do think this is one to drink now. ***, ready to drink and why wait?
Light pale yellow. Airy aromas of just underripe peaches, citrus oils, slate and lifted green spices. A shimmering palate shows oily & viscous sweet and tart sauteed apples, peaches with strong lemon-verbena oils, honey, spice and lifted flowers. This is drinking so beautifully now with Spatlese must and weight, perfect acidity and off-dry finish.
