A shy yet noble nose of musty sweet vanilla, leather, hints of summer fruits, flowers, black and red cherries, figs and minerals. Its medium bodied, linear, lively, savoury yet austere palate has very good to excellent concentration, swathes of freshly fruited clovey red and black fruits ending on a long, dry and food friendly finish. Expressive wine.
Pleasant, lightweight and easy drinking. Pretty rose and dusty earth aromas, with a backdrop of dried cherries. I would have preferred just a touch more concentration, as the finish really tailed off. Still a nice wine though.
Tempranillo Tasting @ Shrugging Atlas: The Beauty! Out of the 6 bottles offered this evening this was the true star. This full-bodied Gran Reserva showed it knew how the Old School Masters in Spain made wine. It was like a Flaminco Dancer was doing a tap on my taste buds. IF you have someone to impress or want to treat yourself to a delight (you ARE worth it), then spend the $ on this bottle. It IS worth every penny.
