Clear, pale pink. The nose is light. I get some baking under my nose, Madeleine (so caramelised butter, sugar, vanilla) but light. Strawberry candy floss. Light but a bit of richness/weight. The palette is not at all sweet, rhubarb, apple, a touch savoury. Next one in a year to eighteen months.
Medium to light body. Benefits from a bit of air. Strawberry with some earthy notes, a little more high toned on the palate. Just a little tannin remaining. This is a juicy mouthful of fruit, clean and tasty with a nice finish
From 12 months ago this has softened into a lovely place. There remains the fresh pear-drop acidity, but the proportion to the fruit now seems more harmonious. Not a wine with aspirations to be anything other than a lovely drink, and unapologetically Burgundian. It is perhaps this honesty and transparency that remains most appealing.
