I expected more from this ... . it's well made, but lacks the x factor, not on the level of La Conseillante, Eglise Clinet, Trotanoy in this vintage - but good fun and drinks very civilized.

Spring Break Mini-Mondo Tasting (Deerfield Beach, FL): Flight #1 - non-blind. This is a pretty wine with plush red fruit and delicate feminine tertiary notes. I enjoyed the finish more than the nose. Lovely wine that appears to be hitting its drinking window.

5th of 6, decanted 80 minutes, perfect cork and level, fine form and even more nuance but otherwise as noted in April 21, based on youthful colour and energy to fruit I suspect upside, 10+ years. F+ (18).

4th of 6, opened 2, decanted one hour, perfect cork and level, rounder and more harmonious than last bottle in Nov 18, polished, velvety, quite complex for right bank, suave rather than energetic, a point. F+ (18).

2001 20-years on Commanderie dinner. Here we have a winner. Wonderfully complex nose with dark fruit, bakery spices, sous-bois. Polished and elegant palate, long finish. Moeuix is always a safe bet.
