  • Dark ruby color; full bodied. Classic aroma and flavor of cassis, with perhaps a hint of bitter chocolate. Was quite harsh on initial taste, before food...(paired with pork tenderloin, roasted in bacon) Still harsh tannins.
I almost never comment on the pro reviews I subscribe to, but in this case I am the first/only commoner to review this wine. I find myself much more in sync with Josh Reynolds’ (Vinous) mediocre 87 score than with Richard Hemmings’ (Jancis Robinson) bullish 17/20 (oxford scale)...This wine is just good enough for washing down a piece of red meat with ample fats.
