Nose - spicy, like pepper but not overpowering Body - complex, but well aged with hints of strawberry and pepper. Low tannins, low acidity, medium body. I had this decanted for 2 hours before serving and was a great wine!

Very nice at the 20-year mark. Red cherry, strawberry, and dark plums. Mostly given way to the secondary notes of raspberry liqueur, leather, tobacco, spice box, earth, red licorice, and a subtle funkiness to it. Nice acidity and good long finish. Still has plenty of life left.

Hard to drink. Rich with dark plums, brown fruit. Slightly oxidized and pruney, clumsy. A far cry from the finesse and elegance of the 2004 Charvin. Nobody liked this.

(Clos de Papes) I thought was a mess. Hot, out of balance, lacking fruit..just blehhhh.......yes there was some herbs de provence but they were soaked in licorice ethanol. I so don't like CDP anymore.
(Clos des Papes Châteauneuf-du-Pape) High notes of ripe cherry and cola on nose; rich, ripe cherry, pepper, white pepper and garrigue palate; medium-plus finish

This bottle was off - may not have been stored well. Was not what I’d normally expect of Clos des Papes

Fully evolved. Light color. Transformed from an oaky beast into something ethereal, tasting of cherry brandy with suggestions of Christmas spices.
