The wine is yellow gold colored. The legs are slow. There is minimal sediment in the bottle. the nose provides hazelnut, butterscotch, honey, vanilla, light toast, lemon, creme brûlée and melon. The body is medium/full. The wine has semi oily texture, in a good way. The wine has medium acidity. This is a perfectly aged, beautiful Chardonnay, typical from Hartford. Bought at the winery recently and perfectly preserved. I am a fan of older intact Chardonnays - this is perfect right now...

In a good place right now. All the bright citrus fruits have resolved quite well with the acidity. Not as much earthy minerality as remembered but very long satisfying viscous finish was rewarding indeed. Proved an excellent paring with caramelized prosciutto & melon pasta dish and a caprese side salad.

Their label says "Pacific fog drifting through the vineyard and back again to the sea each day can create wines of great focus...Fog Dance Vineyard Chardonnay displays bright aromas of rangpur lime and creamy peach. The flavors of mandarin orange and lemon meld together with a mineral driven finish."
I don't know what a rangpur lime is but I found citrus on the nose, golden straw in the glass, good body with a little glycerin leg, and a lengthy finish. On the back palate was a touch of the typical California chard petroleum but this wine was sharp, focused, and more mineral-driven than oily. The only flaw I cite is the 14.6% alcohol on the label; while there was no heat and the wine was balanced, it was a little much for two people at dinner....don't like to be too drunk. Despite the high alcohol played well with ginger-roasted haddock.

A nicely balanced experience overall, having only improved with age.

Honeymoon Wine Tasting; 6/25/2012-7/3/2012 (California - Napa & Sonoma Counties): Tasted at Winery. Golden yellow in color, with aromas of melon, citrus, and green apple. The flavors also included slightly buttery oak with nicely balanced acidity. The finish had decent length, but was very simple.
