Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's): Lovely nose - dark fruit, just a hint of earth, like a younger version of the 01. On the palate - still lovely, concentrated fruit, someone said "dulce de leche" and yes - a hint of that, but in harmony with the fruit, not overpowering it. Will it become something like the 2001 in 9 years time? I think it might still be a little glossier, but also I have a sense the fruit here is finer. Lovely stuff. Interestingly the class quercophobe rated this better than the 2001 which preceded it. The table's #3 WOTN.

Voge & Friends (Llewelyn's Herne Hill, London): This is darker fruited affair and the nose really charms me. There is a certain dulche de leche fudginess around the plum fruits on the nose. Palate has real energy and although the tannins need a little time they are not jagged in any way. Yum

Cornas, Voge and Friends (Llewelyn's, Herne Hill): Lovely nose here, dark and pure fruited. Also the gloss of caramel, dulce-de-lecce says NH and spot on. It's quite sweet on the palate, the purity of fruit shining through. It is young, not resolved at this stage and so a bit spiky in places, but it's genuinely good already and clearly has the means to just get better and better. I think it will catch and then surpass the 2001 we had alongside it. Bury it for another 5-10 years is the advice - I've got one more so will try and heed those wise words!

This has continued to improve and develop nicely. Lovely ripe bramble fruits, very floral, crushed stone, hints of pepper and smoked meat. The palate is very nicely balanced with the density of the fruit and flavor making the tannins only minimally notable with food. Still has lots of life ahead, but drinking well now.
