wow, plump, but not overdone red fruit aromas. red berry fruit. very caressing texture on the palate. great effort. color is starting to turn a corner with a little brown to the edge. 2010 was a cool year. Hyland was planted in 1971, 200 acre vineyard. own rooted, no irrigation, Jory soils, suitcase clones, perhaps not even Pinot Noir.

13.7% - Clear, med ruby / clean, med+ intensity - rhubarb, cranberry, sour cherries, a bit of earthy mushroom funk, pine forest, black tea / dry, med+ acidity, med body, med- fine grained tannin, med+ intensity, med to long length. Nicely balanced with great complexity level at such an early stage. It sure brings good souvenir of last summer trip in the Willamette Valley (90-92+)

Taste: Very silky medium body with medium/high acidity and good tannins. The structure isn't too big and there are really good tones of red fruits, cherries, spice tones, and fresh picked berries.
Overall: This is a pretty young pinot. There is nice depth on both the nose and palate with the younger tones having a real freshness to them.

Lighter cranberry color, young, fresh and fruity, with nicely perfumed aromas of cranberry, underipe cherry, and fresh cut flowers. Mid palate gets cola, tea, light spice, lemon peel, with a touch of sweetness that is a nice balance for the acidity. Comes across as young and likly to improve over time.

Great, with subdued cherry, strawberry flavors and a touch of spice.

Willamette Valley Wines presents: Pinot in the City (City Winery, Chicago, IL): Nose: There is a nice tartness to the tones of red fruits, cherries, some bits of earth and fresh picked berries. This also has some nice balance and a higher-tone quality to the tones.
