See my notes of 7-4-2016: "Cherry, hints of strawberry, cola, lavender, mild oak. Smooth and velvety in the mouth. Rich and intense fruit, but not acutely big; just right. Great balance; good structure. A long and somewhat velvety finish." In memory of LCDR Larry “Mike” Jordan, a fellow U.S. Navy serviceman during the Vietnam War. Mike was returning to the USS Kitty Hawk from the Philippines when his aircraft, a KA3B aerial tanker, was purportedly shot down on April 12, 1966. His name is listed on The Vietnam Veterans Memorial, PANEL 6E LINE 106.

At home with andouille sausage and shrimp...an unlikely pairing but was in the mood for Pinot. drank this next to an 04 Casa Marin (Chile) and Big Table Farm 14. Decanted for about 30 minutes drank over an hour.
Really vibrant ruby color, translucent and bright. From prior notes: "Nose was dark/red fruits, some lavender/floral notes. Palate is bright red fruits, cherry cola, blackberry, tart rhubarb." The wine has evolved since last tasting, from memory a bit more complexity on the finish. Nuanced and smooth.
Too bad this is my last bottle, I think it is no where near its peak, should continue to evolve and drink at this level through 2020...great stuff and awesome QPR.

A great 4th of July wine, paired with Buffalo burger. Cherry, hints of strawberry, cola, lavender, mild oak. Smooth and velvety in the mouth. Rich and intense fruit, but not acutely big; just right. Great balance; good structure. A long and somewhat velvety finish.
