Medium-light, elegant, smooth with raspberries and red cherries. Tannins are rounded so that the wine can be drunk now, and it is made to be drunk with food. My one criticism is that this is atypical of Taillepieds, which normally yields a wine needing substantial time.
Great price and a pretty good wine. Just seems to be missing a little of the complexity and rocky earth that I expect from taillepieds. There's plenty of ripe fruit and a little too much heat on the finish. Might have guessed '09 rather than '10. Even so, overall the wine manages to retain a nice sense of buoyancy despite the rich fruit and alcohol.
