25 years old, and singing. Rich plum fruit, supple tannins, and a smooth, aged tobacco infused finish. I was only able to buy one bottle from the library sale, but what a bottle.

The first of many older bottles of Ravenswood to be sacrificed in honor of a Vermont visit by Zinmeister, Joel Peterson. Deep color with really no sign of age. Complex, elegant aromas and a seamless flavor profile are buoyed by an underlaying structure. Still on the young side. Joel said the vineyard was only in "fifth leaf" when these grapes were picked. This bodes well for the Zin tasting tomorrow.
