Upon opening, I strained and decanted the wine. Beautiful nose which was not your typical Pinot Noir nose from Sonoma Valley or even from the Santa Barbara area. The initial taste was delightful with nice floral and fruit flavors. This also did not remind me of the typical Pinots that I have previously enjoyed which sometimes can be a bit sharp in the initial taste. It was complex and highly evolved. The years have done it well and it appears to me that it can still be stored for more years but is a wonderful wine now and no need to wait any longer to enjoy. A beautiful Peter Michael wine!

Sadly our last bottle. Drank consistently well over an 8 year interval. Still appears to be at peak to me, and, so so ready to drink. Paired perfectly with grilled sausage.

Very interesting wine that I have now had a few times. Last time I had it against a Calera Selleck, against which it tasted over extracted and jammy. This is not one of those pure, linear fruit New World Pinots, like Ben Nacido, or many from NZ, this is bigger, sweeter and also more complex. On it's own yesterday it was a knock-out! yes it is big and rich and not a dancer. But, wonderful rich flavours and lifted aromatics of menthol and violets. Very enjoyable and everyone in the family loved it. No idea how it will age but there is plenty of structure here buried underneath its blanket of fruit.

Double decanted then slow o'd for several hours. Dark red, black fruit with a touch of pepper. Again, had that slight bitterness on the finish initially, but that dissipated by the time of drinking. It was enjoyed by all but fooled the BB group (probably the pepper).

Double decanted then slow O'd for a couple of hours. Dark red, black fruit with a touch of pepper. Very good now but perhaps needs a little more time or longer decant to peak.
