Retail $100(?). Heavy Bottle (900g; 1lb 16.7oz). I was a bit trepidatious opening this bottle as it has been a while. Well, despite the nearly two inch cork (for which I am sure Luc paid a pretty penny), the wine was corked. I wrote to the winery to let them know, not expecting anything in return at all, but I thought they would like to have the feedback. In return? I've heard nothing now two weeks out. Oh well. Another $100 down the drain. Literally.
Dark gold, caramel, nutty, some reduction, figs, clearly showing age but wearing it well, some coconut, lots of (integrated) oak on this, some nutty notes, aged tropical notes; oily, rich, with slight bitter high alc. finish. Blind at the Dirty Dozen CA Chards Grand Harbor Seafood.

Beautifully aged, full-bodied Chardonnay with toast and apricot marmalade on the palate.

Pop and pour at cellar temperature. Simply delicious aged Chardonnay with creamy palate, vanilla, apple, apricot, good acid. We guzzled it quickly.

Amazing color and aromatics. Fresh pears, melons and honey. Perfect timing to consume if you like aged Chardonnay.
