Red fruited, dusty and earthy rioja somewhere in between a classic and modern style. The positives end there as it was somewhat thin, and what's more there's an artificial taste that runs from the mid-palete to the finish ... perhaps an over-manipulation resulting in a harsh balance and a bitter finish. Having really enjoyed an 03 Pedrosa Reserva this was a disappointment, and hopefully it was an off bottle rather than a change on the bodega's direction. 80.
Day 2 - Much, much better. In good harmony, fruit is still a tad raisiny but the ingredients actually came together and is drinking rather beautifully today. 88
Day 3 - Improved further, gaining weight with strong but smooth tannins and now drinks like a reserva. Finally given it a chance to shine, unlike the first night. To me it clearly needs half a decade more time. 90
