  The 2001 Mondavi Cabernet Reserve with the ‘To Kalon’ designation is even more majestic than the regular ‘Reserve’ bottling. It needed 30 minutes of air to fully open up but it had these amazing classic California notes of how I imagine a 74 or 78 would have tasted in their youth. Such an opulent elegance, herbal with deep black fruit and an amazing richness packed in a velvety wrapping. What a truly incredible wine! This baby has decades of life ahead, but irresistible to drink now!
