Hawk and Horse wines: Light purple color. Aromas of mulled cherries and plums, still lively, aged but by no means tired, with notes f anise, cocoa, charcoal, tart. Velvety, smooth tannins (still some dusty grip) with medium acidity. Black currant, roasted sweet plum fruit, nuanced and aged but still juicy. Integrated and balanced with elements of pine tar, fallen leaves, cedar and cocoa powder. Complex, interesting, and not done yet. Includes 2% Merlot, aged 18 months in 50% new French oak.

Smooth and decadent, possessing layers of complexity and subtlety. Showing lively, saturated, bright garnet red in the glass; perfumed with notes of cedar, ripe roses and nutmeg. Starts out soft and elegant offering notes of Bing cherry, black fruit, sweet leather and cocoa. Finish is long, lush and velvety. Softly integrated tannins provide structure and offer longevity. This wine is beautifully balanced.

This wine needs a face lift. I think if you slap an important historical winemakers name the project it should garner support. Well I just tasted it and it certainly isn't worth putting your name on. This wine is thin and alcoholic. It lacks depth and was honestly hard to drink. This would not be a good purchase

N: A bit of alcohol on the nose, trickling up through brambly dark fruits. I got some blackcurrant, blue fruits, good pure cabernet fruit with some spice & wood.
P: Dove in for a taste. Velvety, with a lot of blackberry and some slight blueberry notes to it. Light blackcurrant mixed in, very ripe juicy black fruits dominate. Some wet earth and clay. Very dry, w/ lots of ripe tannins and good acidity. This is a very well made wine.
F: A whisp of fresh cut flowers mingled with earth and dark fruit on the finish, which runs slightly hot. Otherwise a very balanced wine.
For me this is a solid cabernet, and having had it I wish I had held off for a couple of years at least for it to come together properly.

Dark nearly opaque carmine color with beguiling dark fruits, cedar wood, cacoa, and a hint of floral aromas. On the palate it's approaches full-bodied, round, elegant, fresh and persistent with black cherry, cassis, vanilla spice and a hint of cacao. Medium long finish. Blend of 98% Cabernet Sauvignon, 2% Merlot 14.1% Alcohol 1.150 cases produced
