My first Bonny Doon and a pleasurable one at that. I'm not sure what I was expecting, but I enjoyed my experience with this wine, nonetheless. Three things stuck out, a finish that graced a range of bready, yeasty creaminess, sharp, piquant minerals, and a lovely balancing bitterness. The initial perception was of flabby sweetness, but the finish was graceful, alluring, and complex.
Per the back label, approximately 3/4 grenache, with the remainder comprised of Rhone varietals (both red and white). Light/pale salmon colored. Lighter bodied, fresh, and zesty with notions of strawberry, citrus, and minerals. Purchased off the list at Restaurant Alma.
Pretty salmon pink color with citrus, red fruit, and mineral aromas. On the palate, it's medium bodied and fruity with good balance and acidity followed by cherry, strawberry, and citrus flavors. Medium-long finish. Blend of 73% Grenache, 10% Mourvedre, 8% Grenache Blanc, 5% Roussanne, 4% Cinsault
