Chicago: wine, food, friends...cigars!; 9/17/2014-9/20/2014 (Blackbird, Les Nomades, Naha, with lunch at Shaw's Crab House): Broad shouldered, but equally well lifted, this is in a sweet spot now and for the next 6-8 years. Lively, slightly spiritous, with several layers of rich orchard fruit, minerals and some spice. A veritable coin toss as to which one it paired better with, the French Kiss Oyster from New Brunswick, Chardonnay Vinegar Sorbet, Salmon Roe and Tarragon or the Late Summer Sweet Corn Soup, Confit Garlic Custard, Burgundy Snails, Buttermilk Ricotta and Burgundy Truffles. Now that I reflect, I think the latter, because of the richness. Really good juice. recommended
