  • This is a wine that found its way onto the LCBO (Ontario's Liquor monopoly) general list a few years ago and seemed a bargain at twice the price. Alas, I think quality has dropped a tad and now is at the price it should be. That said this was one of those first year bottles and still shows what a beauty Chard can be. Aromas of lime, delicious apple, mineral, pear and apricot are followed by vanilla, clarified butter, mineral and bosc pear skin on the palate. A great long finish with a toffee-hazelnut motif that makes this wine delicate, delicious and still worth cellaring.

  • A lightly golden yellow in colour, the nose has an almost tropical character to it with melon, peach and even background hints of pineapple that makes it rich yet approachable.

The wine shows more restraint on the palate, with white peach still dominant but having a flinty edge that adds texture and contrast. The wine finishes with soft rounded stone fruits and just enough biscuit character. The wine is drinking well now, and over the next year or two.

  • slightly dark yellow colour in the glass with a nose rather generous on tropical fruits and hints of vanilla. thankfully, in the mouth it's a lot fresher, with a citrusy acidity dominating over the fruity notes. moderate finish; fine for sipping alone or with food.
