An enjoyable Rhone. Bouquet simple, mild, earthy, berry. Taste moderate balanced cloves, cinnamon, slight black pepper on soft velvety finish. Sweetness is accentuated with a variety of food flavors, so it has a moderate range of complexity. Better with food than alone. Goes well with a combination of strong and complex flavors with a wide range, including salmon bruschetta, pork shank with sweet date and bacon laden chutney. $12 per glass. Event - wedding anniversary at Bo-Beau restaurant in LaMesa, CA.

not much nose. what there is would be light strawberry. long, smooth finish. nothing complex. but a better than average example of cotes du rhone from a superb vintage year in the southern rhone. decent QPR. buy it.

This wine was an 85 on the first day - mostly oak barrel and dark fruit that was disjointed. The second day it was a solid 88 after having let it mellow with some air. The guard on this wine by day 2 was let down, and on the front was kirsch, raspberry, strawberry on the front. Cinnamon kind of crept into the mid-palate and was actually rather enjoyable. The finish was muted, which was the biggest change on day 2, and although there was some kind of tannin in the finish, it was very soft and delicate by comparison. Very nice wine and quite an about-face. "Drink by 2013" is so wrong it's laughable -- 2018-2019 more like it.

Probably could have held this longer in our cellar even though the recommendation was to drink it now.
