No real change in the last year. Best part is the nose, which indicates that it has some age on it; still get petrol and apricot. Palate and finish are simple, where did the complexity on the nose go?

Nose of petrol and lemon curd. Palate starts sweet like pineapple juice, then gets drier. Very simple palate. Finish was short and not memorable. Of all the entries, this one I had the least notes. Nothing really much to say about it.

Straw color. Petrol and apricot on the nose. Medium sweet, fruit but not distinct like an apple fruit leather, then goes dry. Finish long, but mostly acidic with a hint of sweetness, not overly distinct. Finished 6th out of 8 at CT Seattle Riesling tasting. I was disappointed in it.

Actually consumed in 2011.Really funky smell of subtle pears and something chemical. Spouse liked it because the fruit was not overpowering. Nice mineral vs. fruit balance for me. Very food friendly wine as I had it with pasta and veg alfredo with oil substituted for cream sauce.

(Zilliken Ock-Bock SPATLESE) Weekend Dear Friends, A few requested re-order wines to clean up this weekend before we move on to new horizons... All are FIRST COME FIRST SERVED up to the posted limits. Have a great weekend everyone - - Jon Rimmerman *********************** 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spatlese (Saar) STRICT LIMIT 12/person at this price I'm not sure what is going on with the 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Spatlese but someone has obviously penned or posted a TN somewhere as we've been getting requests for it since November. We offered this wine last fall as a special and here it is again at the same price (something of a joke at this point for top-quality Spatlese with age). 2002 has always been overlooked in favor of 2001 but it's a vintage that is still considered very good to excellent and it would have received far more press if not for following in the footsteps of one of the finest overall vintages in history (similar to 2001 in Bordeaux after 2000). 2005 Chateau d'Armailhac (Pauillac) STRICT LIMIT 6/person This price for a 2005 Medoc of this caliber? This is from an original parcel in perfect condition and the wine is only hinting at what it will be a decade (or more) from now. 2005 Le Petit Mouton (Pauillac) STRICT LIMIT 3/person at this price Same Mouton family as the d'Armailhac, also at an eye-opening price for the 2005 (compare at up to $100-150+, I'm not even counting the absurd prices in NY for $200-250/bottle). Like the d'Armailhac, this is an original shipment from Mouton-Rothschild. Cedric Bouchard Inflorescence Champagne Blanc de Noirs (Val Vilaine) STRICT LIMIT 12/person This parcel is directly from the winery cellar with pristine provenance. If you enjoy a touch of fruit and fizz with your rock and minerality, this is for you... Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ8011 Bord7772 Bord7737 Champ6710
(ZILLIKEN Ock Bock Spatlese) Mosel Saar Dear Friends, Two crazy deals on German Riesling - there may more filigreed vintages of each but not at this price. In other words, I wouldn't hesitate to enjoy either of these any night of the week. Both have impeccable provenance and are EXTREMELY LIMITED at this price. This parcel will arrive in a few weeks - local pick up around October 15th-20th: 2003 Schloss Lieser Niederberg Helden Riesling Spètlese (Mosel) 750ml (IWC/1*) Yes, this is a 2003 but it's also not $30 or more. I think most of you will ignore the vintage in exchange for a most interesting wine at this price-level. If left alone for another 6-8 years, the Helden could evolve into a low-acid dessert treat for a song: 2002 Zilliken Ockfener Bockstein Riesling Spètlese (Saar) 750ml (IWC/1*) Wait until you sniff the nose of this evolving wine - wow. Hanno Zilliken believes 2002 is not far behind 2001 in quality and I'm not going to argue with him. At this price? You're kidding, right? Maybe this could use a bit more framework but the secondary character and pin-point/citric Saar olfactory fashion show emerging from this wine make it more than worth the experiment. Nothing calms tropical fruit like age - enough said. VERY RARE in the US - this is not the widely distributed Saarburger Rausch Spatlese: Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Germ8621 Germ8622

Pineapple, apricot, raspberry mellowed in a way that is a tiny bit sherry-like.
