Picked up from the winery back in May on my honeymoon.
Popped on Sunday night to pair with pici and BVP bolognese, just like we had in Montalcino. The pairing was great, as I truly believe that type of food needs a Brunello or Rosso. It just works. However, this one, at 16 years, is a bit tired and over the hill. It had the classic orange/bricking rim, secondary and tertiary flavors began to kick in with air. I finished the bottle a few days later when I had some leftover bolognese for dinner, and it did not move between the two days. I have a few 2010/2013 of this so curious where those stand in relation to the 2007.

Prior bottle was nearly 14 months ago and this wine continues to show quite well and has really improved along the lines I'd hoped over the years. Red and black cherry along with plum, earth and minerals with just a touch of leather on the nose. Just over medium bodied with a very pretty mix of both black and red cherry upfront and through the middle. There's bright, roundness and depth as well as nuances of both black and red cherry that combine to make the wine really enjoyable. Mid-body has good depth, but feels more elegant and refined; better integrated than prior bottles. Fine grained tannins, acidity, tart red cherry and mineral on the backside. The transition from mid-body to finish was virtually seamless; a big change from my prior bottle. My prior few bottles were quite good, but tonight, this bottle showed what I had hoped for when I originally purchased it. Drink over the next 3 years to enjoy this wine at its current peak. Very glad I'm final bottle has such an impressive showing.

Solid Brunello. Typical aromas spilled out of the bottle on the cork pull. Rusty and clear. Cherries, leather, tobacco and asphalt. Opened 75 mins before. Flavors there with prominent and drying tannins. I think this can still go for a while.

Not as good as my previous bottle, this seemed quite a bit more evolved, with a brownish-orange color at the rim. Shows a bright cherry flavor profile with some tobacco notes. Lacks stuffing and a bit short on the finish. I think this is an off bottle.

An oK bottle this evening but other Brunelli showed better. I generally like Ciacci's BDM but this one didnt not show the magic so a bit disappointing
