Right from the cellar this was very spicy with out a lot of fruit and I really wasn't enjoying it too much. But with a little air, some soft fruit emerged and balanced that spicy quality out. Feels bigger than the alcohol would indicate. I enjoyed the bottle last year better (more fruit than spice) but with air this is certainly enjoyable.
This is sort of an outlier as far as Rhys goes. Very ripe, mostly red fruits dominated by cherries and kind of one dimensional. Very low level of tannins and acid. Still enjoyable, but I would drink these sooner vs. later.
Opened and drank after 1 hour. Creamy, strawberry, rhubarb and earth. Tannins a fairly well resolved but not gone completely. It's very good with great balance but lacks complexity. I'd drink now through the next few years.
