Brooding nose of dark fruits, spices and plums, some cola notes from the barrel, followed by a very rich, all blue and black fruits inflected mouthfeel, sappy and silky mid palate, with excellent depth of flavors, ending in a powerful and long finish. This powerful wine still needs a couple of years in the cellar, and is close to Grand Cru quality. This terroir les Cras, along with the Richemone in warm years produce amazing NSG, which tend to reveal their qualities after 20 years of snooze in the cellar, and this wine is no exception.

An unbelievable belter of a wine and one of the very best Nuits I ever had. Immensely powerful but refined at the same time, bags of sexy blue and red fruit, the nose to die for. This came across as just having entered prime drinking and having had Reignots 09 quite a few times I would actually wager that this Cras has more longevity (of fruit) and isn't a lesser wine. Cras for me is sweetspot in the CLB portfolio pound for pound. Had a 14 Cras side by side which the 09 clearly dominated initialy but with an hour in the glass the 14 also came around really nicely.

Premier Cru Table (The Fifth Avenue Hotel): 1273/1513. Showing ripeness and earthiness, not as sexy as recent vintages. 92

Full fruit, smooth tannins. Refined for NSG.
