Surprise favorite of the 2015 Memorial Day weekend. Truthfully I did not know what to expect from this wine. I did think it might be past its prime. However, it was exactly where it needed to be. The wine color was ruby red with only a hint of brown. Upon opening, it did not need to breath. Beautiful herbal notes that evolved into more of a plum. Great complexity.

Great nose for a 10 year old Cali Cabernet that has the aging potential for at least another 5+ years. Heavy Blackberry / cherry on the nose. Structure and tannin levels are there for this wine to continue to improve. A great example of a powerful Cali Cab from a tremendous year. The only thing I am upset about is I do not have another bottle.

initially the sweetness is off-putting. it has mellowed a bit over time, unlike the hundred acre which never opened up into any tamer mode. the chalk hill has very good fruit, some unresolved tannin, and good acidity. it won't improve with bottle age based on this experience, and suffers in the end from it's sweetness. drink up.

Very nice nose. Strong red and dark fruit flavors. Blackberry flavors a little too much for me. Tannins still very strong. Some will love this. I think it still needs more time.

One of my old reliables. It is now past its prime. Fading on the edges light in the middle. Fruit still there finish was average.
