I am not in love with this wine and I purchased 12 at release. I have bought this wine for about 15 years in a row but this vintage is not typical. Most recent bottle this week was the same as two months ago. Nose with no spice, short finish, not very zinfandel like. I live close to Dry Creek and in 2010 in October there was a severe heat spike that toasted the zinfandel. Grape clusters had unripe fruit, ripe fruit and raisined fruit all on the same clusters. I love my other vintages of Rafanelli Zin.
Loved it. If there is a downside it's the "Unfiltered". Although it drinks as well as any bottle that you can open, the sediment at the bottom of the glass can be distracting. Otherwise a winner, is a winner, is a winner.
