I was pleasantly surprised at the fresh fruit in this wine, given its age. I decided it was time to open it, nearing the end of its estimated drinking window. Fifteen minutes of swirling definitely helped it to open up, and it was an enjoyable accompaniment to a prime rib sandwich. Smooth, but still some fine tannins present.
That said, I didn’t experience the “wow” factor that I usually have with Villa Creek wines. Good, but not memorable.

Popped and poured. Took ~ 20 minutes to open up. Elegant with red fruit notes and a slight earthy finish - enjoyable. On the delicate/understated side for a Paso wine, and I'm not sure how much longer the fruit notes will stay vibrant. Drink now.

Score says it all. Not a great effort in contrast to other wines from VC.

I thought this wine is good, but not great or amazing. Not along finish, but good balance.

What a difference a couple of years made for this bottle! The first one was not ready but this one is smooth, fruity & rich.
