The 2009 LATERAL is the best tasting vintage in years says winemaker Marty Mathis. It has better grape sources and is now made with organic grapes. The elegant interplay of Merlot (45%), Cabernet Franc (14%), Cabernet Sauvignon (20%), Malbec (14%), and Petit Verdot (7%) dances on the palate, with supple tannins and a silky mouth feel. Round and very well balanced, this luscious wine is both complex and approachable. Don’t miss out on this impressive, versatile blend!

A beautiful wine with great fruit flavors, and a nice full body. This was recommended to me by Barbara, sommelier at Pappas Bros Steakhouse in Dallas. I had asked for a smooth, full bodies wine that would pair well with the fantastic steaks they serve. I was surprised when she picked a red blend which was heavy on merlot, but she was absolutely right in this pick. Offered for $95 at the steakhouse, I was able to pick up a couple bottles online at $35. I only wish I ordered more before it sold out.

4th Saturday Brown Bagger (Rich & Dana's): Deep garnet color featuring aromas of boysenberry and cherry, vanilla and perfume, ending with spice and red fruit tones. Full-bodied with sweet red fruit, vanilla and candied cherry (think Luden's cherry cough drops) on the finish. Nicely balanced and fun, but hard to pick out as a Cab.

Excellent aroma, mild tannin notes @ 1st pour. Tannins not evident on successive pours.
