  • Still cherry red ruby color.

PN funk all over the nose of cherries, earth, cedar, leather.

Almost unrecognizable as new world. Mature cherries and plums, tobacco, earth, ash and leather. Gorgeous medium bodied profile, mature yet retaining freshness. Acidity and alcohol are fully integrated. Drink now.

  • Ripe red fruit, some jam, earth and spice notes. A bit of tannin asserts itself near the finish, but otherwise very nicely balanced with good weight. Drinking very well now, this was a very good value wine.

  • Wow, what a nose! Mushroom, aged balsamic, cranberry raspberry, black tea, lots of complexity. Similar flavors on the palate and a strong acid backbone. Clearly this is how this wine should taste, vs. my prior bottle, which probably saw some sub-optimal storage conditions somewhere along the way. 93+

  • Auction purchase. This was less fresh that I would have expected for a ten year old pinot. Initially presenting as past peak, it showed better with air. Lots of mushrooms and forest floor on the nose that carried over to the palate, along with some ripe cranberries. Good acid remains. A good bottle, but below my high expectations. I have another coming from a more reliable source, so will be interesting to see how the two bottles compare.

  • Attractive nose of leather and dried fruit. Very suave and polished on the very balanced palate. Flavors of tobacco, dried fruit, earth and leather. Finish clings to the palate - shows great class and focus, with excellent balance and medium body, if a bit less flesh than some might prefer. The acid might carry it for a while, but this may be nearing its peak.
