  • Rich colour, lively appearence; complex and deep nose, spices and earth, honey and grapefruit, lime and herbs; the palate is rich and ripe, with real old-vine creaminess, mineral energy and tension, ripe but lively acidity, relatively light flavours, bitters from the skin maceration have been resolved; good length (only). One bottle left; I will not keep it too long. On the second day, it has become quite oxidative, on the nose in particular. Definitely not a long-haul wine.

  • From Kühn oldest vines (80 years) in the heart of the Mittelheimer St. Nikolaus. Fullish colour; deep and honeyed nose, mature, peach and apricot, bitters from ths skins, mineral and pure, floral topnotes; on the palate ripe and rich, concentrated and powerful (13.5% ABV) but with a lovely balance, ripe and juicy acidity; excellent length, Alpine herbs. An uncompromising but very attractive wine, drinking well now, perhaps not for the long term?
