Black cherry, blackberry, and chocolate aromas. Juicy, smooth, red-toned fruit flavors. Good structure, fine tannins, and nice finish. It's very good but seems like this has the potential to be so much more. Maybe I'm nitpicking.
Good wine that has mild tannins but isn't overly smooth nor memorable. Thought it was mediocre on its own with decent fruit (blackberry) up front, but became better and fit in the next day with steak. Not as good as previous vintages of this wine from WLW. Pretty good for the price.
From a Tasting Room 50ml. Nose: Medium expressiveness, black raspberry, black current, cassis, and leather. Palate: Medium-full bodied, spicy dark red and black fruit attack, tails off just a bit thru the mid-palate but comes back nicely in the back-end, tobacco and leather notes join the up front spicy fruit. Finish: Medium length sense of tobacco and spicy fruit.
