  • -translucent pale gold
    -minimal aromatics
-almost nothing on palate at chilled temperature, only opens up as it warms and sees some air, med acidity, lighter weight, nondescript but pleasant white/yellow fruits, nice little zinginess on the finish
-very pleasant after giving it some air and warming to open up, not tiring yet but is probably at or just past peak

  • Mostly Old-World Weekend; 9/20/2012-9/22/2012 (Woodley and Cleveland Parks): Pretty peach-gold color in the glass. At first, not much going on here aromatically. Yellow apple and honey. Some white flowers. It opened up with about an hour. On the palate, the first thing I notice about this wine is its ripeness, lots of cantaloupe melon, yellow apple and a hint of apricot. There’s enough acid to balance the ripe fruit, and it’s not goopy. But it is not a lean wine. Some nutty and buttery notes add complexity and weight. This wine makes me crave chicken alfredo or linguini with white clam sauce, something rich that could stand up to this wine’s boldness.

  • Nice bottle for roast chicken or pork. Honeysuckle, melon, and sour apple. A bit of copper penny on the palate as well. A little watery on the initial attack then the flavors hit but the 1 second makes a difference. Gets better as it develops over a couple of hours but never reaches killer quality. For the money would buy again if it's around.

  • I'd say better than 87% of CdR blancs. ABV is totally in control. Very tight upon opening, needed about an hour to really start to blossom, then much better on day 2. Rounder (very southern Rhone) profile. Honysuckle and ripe yellow apple/yellow peach. Dry and a bit of spice/herbs on the finish. A great value.
