  • Ok, still waiting for this bottle to show me something...anything. This bottle is thin and acidic, with a light, though pleasant , red cherry and tart plum fruit and a faint touch of earth.

  • Decanted and tasted after about 15 minutes. It was a hot mess. It needed about three hours of air to really come together.

Nose shows dried cherry and freshly tilled earth with some pie cherry accents. Definitely on the big bodied side for a Pinot. Cherry fruit leather hits the palate first, followed by some acid, followed by more cherry and some earth, then some oak, then some tannins on the way to a long and pleasant finish. Overall, this wine has developed quite well.

If you have one in your cellar, it seems to work well as a Friday night wine to cap a difficult work week. At least, it did that for us.

  • better to have waited with this one as not yet integrated compared to other 2009 oregon pinots;still, a pleasure with potential to improve
