This is still fresh and primary with a slick and glossy texture, though without the "dialed up to 11" fruit intensity of the Swan Terrace. It was enjoyable right out of the gate and a very tasty drink but right now there isn't much more going on than the pure fruit.
This was what I thought was a 2010 Bearwallow. It is actually the Home...
A beautiful follow to the 2012 MacDugal Ranch from Kutch. This is darker, but still perceptually red fruited and just as delicious. It might be a little deeper and more complex. Awesome wine.
I realize I am out of these already and wish I had a couple to age. Hopefully Kevin and Jeff will release some these later from their library... and forget that I have had a tough time with their 2010 Horseshoe Chardonay on the same night!
clearly Burgundian which is the double edged sword for me, lots of structure and clearly pinot but personally I think I'm just a fruit whore when it comes to pinot. Starting to open more on day 2 and becoming more expressive and hopefully tonight it really struts its stuff
Rhys Tasting With The Gang (My House): Tasted with 2010 Family Farm. In this instance, the Home outshined it. For one thing, the Home is less stemmy aromatically and for me what shows instead is a herb note, than the stem signature of the FF. Juicy here, maybe a touch riper than the FF. Also here is a real depth, with stony raspberry and black cherry, with a terrific, leaner styled finish. One of my best WsOTN.
