  • An aged beauty that shows so well; stunning, as the fruit still pervades but has yielded secondary and tertiary flavors. The nose shows pepper, lavender and herbal notes. The tour de force of taste is concentrated dark brooding fruit, forest floor and a chocolate finish. Really not laying back, but coming right at you! Take your time with a decant here - at least two hours.

  • Medium to full bodied. Black cherry, boysenberry, hint of bell pepper. Long finish.

  • This wine is everything I want in a Cab. DEFINITELY better after about 2 hrs. Almost exclusively tertiary - dried fruit/flowers - hint of chocolate and tobacco - forest floor. Not overwhelming - but for those of us that love 20 year old superstar cabs.

  • Decanted for approximately one hour. Burgundy to violet hue with bricking on the rim. Pretty tight on the nose initially which eventually opened to a delicate realm of stewed plums, raspberry preserves, and baking spice. For a 20 y/o wine this has held up extremely well. Nothing but a world of smoothness on the palate with a magical conglomeration of tasty dark red/blue fruit, totally integrated tannins and a soft supple medium plus bodied margauxesk finish of finesse and loveliness. Everything is there. In fact, there's so much going on here that I find difficult to describe. I can't quite understand the the discrepancy in scores from previous posts as this was a truly exceptional bottle. Drink up as this won't be getting any better.
