En Primeur campaign for the 2022 vintage Day Four (Bordeaux): Blackcurrant, earth, slight leather, savoury spices, again that Ribena note and a little red currant underpin. Medium plus intensity acidity, concentrated black hued fruit, savoury spices, chewy wood and grape tannins are coarse flour textured and persist long with the dark fruits, touch of non-intrusive alcohol warmth on the long finish. Nice

Well marching into its proper drinking window and a lot more evolved , of course, since 7 years ago that we had this last ( Papies 90) . Some decanting would be advisable. Still a decent level of oak in the forefront, definitely less than other years but not yet well assimilated and has a smoky , mocha feel from it. Well round on palate and they managed the nuances of 2011 very well to the point that the wine has no harsh edges at all. Maybe the use of oak here worked well to polish the wine. For sure a classy wine even at this young age and given another 5 years ( this is a late blooming 2011 unless one loves oak more than wine) this should be in full stride. 91-92 for now from us

Espetacular. Fruta vermelha fresca, erva, menta, alcaçuz. Final de boca longo, muito fresco
